Boyanup Farm Wedding - Doug and Rachel

Imagine arriving at a farm wedding location with a barnyards and haystacks while having ducks, chicken and pigs running around you. That was the image I had in mind but it wasn't the case with this wedding.

When we arrived, we were greeted with the sight of this giant mansion filled with lots of character. Up front, the porch was made out of four giant pillars topped with loads and loads of greenery. To the right, there was the garden filled with trees of different shades of autumn coloured leaves where the arbor was placed. On the left, there was a beautiful verandah covered with more greeneries and next to it, a grandiose rock formation.

I was told by Alan (the owner) that these amazing structures were inspired by the scenery where he once was. It was a sight to behold.

I met Doug and Rachel at a friends' 10 year wedding anniversary. They soon started attending our church and we're now small group buddies. When we were told that they were going to serve fairy breads and beef, gravy and rolls during their reception, I truly thought that they were joking, but they were not. Doug once took at year off and went surfing around Australia while eating two dollar tacos. As for Rach, well she has a heart of gold. Last August, she went to Malawi for 3 months where she ministered and taught the kids there. When she came back, Doug proposed and the rest is history.

Here are some highlights of the day.
